Many folks love coconut water. But how many would venture to climb the tree to get it…not many I am sure. So looking at this tree laden with coconuts, I wonder who is going to risk going onto this vacant property and climb that tree. Well, not me. My climbing days are over.
But, it was not always that way. We had a coconut tree in the yard when we were kids. Matter of fact, we had two. My aunt and grandmother could not keep my cousin Tee Tee (because he loved tea) and I out of the trees. Imagine, 8 o’clock at night and we up in a coconut tree drinking what else, coconuts.
All this activity caught up with my cousin, he got stung by a bubble bee while climbing the coconut tree one day. His face was completely swollen. Oh, what a sight…
