I am writing this subject to correction.  Blackmans Bridge is dated all the way back to 1682. It was constructed to span a part of the gully which was/is a part of Blackmans Plantation.  The Bridge was built with limestone boulders, plastered together with white lime and a sand mixture. Molasses and egg whites were also added to the mixture to give strength.  Blackmans Bridge is also known to Bajans as “Molasses Bridge.”

Blackmans Gully, located in St. Joseph, is known for its plush vegetation, rare birds, fauna, plants with medicinal value, and the green monkeys.
