    Rory, actually I used a Tamron AF 18-200mm lens. However, the camera was a Nikon D70s. I decided to first convert the image to Black & White after seeing how obvious the light was through the arch. It was then necessary to increase the contrast a bit. Also, I waited until the sun was down and the area I was in got a bit dark. So, it all worked out in the end.
